For Mike Young, Forever Ago

Battle Toads

First you are a toad with incredibly
large fists on a planet of caves.

You only move to the left and
down in the shape of christmas.

And fall down. Cracks on his helmet
reveal what appears to be his brain.

I must defeat the dark queen
and her huge, powerful breasts

before her breasts (Medusa style),
or rat creatures, big teeth holes,

before they produce cattle-loads
of venom, hang-tenning, and

destroy all them caves. Is there
any justice in squashing Big

Blag with a fist? Is that it?
Please disable the friendly fire

one-fist KO option you goddamn
wartfeatures. Zits is dead now.

E-Chap Release: Elocutioneering

I just finished the final touches on my e-chap Elocutioneering. I made it today. I started at 9:30 and finished just now. Let me know what you think.

Most of my source materials came from Wikipedia, including articles on pupils, 10th grade, The Wizards of Waverly Place, Garfield, Alexander Graham Bell, Poetry, Elocution, and the water wheel. Although a lot of the first poem comes from first hand accounts of child birth (which are yucky, to say the least). This has been my best attempt at a kind of google collage, an exercise in theft. I've used other poet's poems, my own poems, diaries, articles and anything else I could find to make poems, while still injecting new writing of my own whenever I got the urge. I hope you enjoy it. It is dedicated to Ted Berrigan's ghost.

Elocutioneering (Pinch Pinch Press 2008)

I just found a pdf of Bad Poetry I'm in by googling my name (yes, we all do it). Read it.

I'm making one too. Hopefully it will be done by the end of the day. It's going to be my complete autobiography.

I saw this painting in Madrid and I really liked it. Does anybody else like Goya? Do you know any good books about him and/or his art?

"This is What Jesus Would Do"

I want to have lots of readings in Ashland this year.

If you want to read poetry in front of an audience I can make this happen for you.

Email me.

I want to have house readings with beer and friends. So people can just relax and enjoy poetry and talk to one another.

And readings on campus. I want to trick people into coming to poetry events and then trick them into liking it.

I want to get my shit together and finish all the chapbooks I've started. BLAH.

If anyone wants to publish my chapbooks they should email me.

I have an Ezra Pound one called Canto, For Saxophone.
A Gertrude Stein one A Brutal Crib.
A Barret Watten one called Reduction.
One I wrote last spring break which is really small called The Horner In Fleet With Dust.
This could be a section of a larger book. I have some other poems and large sections of writing just sitting around. Like my Spice poems. Those are pretty good. These could all be put together to make a book instead of chapbooks. Maybe I'll just publish them myself. It's hard. I'm bad with design. Maybe I'll just print them out on regular 8 1/2 X 11 paper and staple it and give it to my friends and mail it to poets I like with a note that says, "publish my poems or I'll send bears to burn down your family."

I want to be so fucking productive this fall.

Barcelona Has Nice Sand

Now we sever this.
Our hours slept through the hottest part.

So we came down off the lift, people barely even speak in this deep of sand, and now we have pictures of it all, so come off, sit around, be gentle with the people who cough and crouch.

If the man can sell doughnuts let him, he is a dance we all knew and a triangle ringing off somewhere.
Even notes stuck in a cornet, a man can be bent in stick formation, like maybe I knew him.
I can still forget it: more vegatables, distilled water, the wet sand, crumbs, brown, two beds made one, the word for "to hug."

Shit can be found anywhere, the city has traces of it down blocks and near churches.
I might of shit there once, but I was never looking.
